What can you do in PlayStation VR2?
Today we’re exploring what people are doing in PlayStation’s new headset…
#1: Look around
PS VR2 is the first consumer headset to ship with eye-tracking. In the physical world, we learn a lot from where somebody is looking, so this is a key step for social VR.
#2: Don’t blink
The horror game Switchback VR makes creative use of the eye-tracking capabilities: Whenever you blink, creepy mannequins move closer to you. Yikes.
#3: Don’t look down
In Horizon Call of the Mountain, you rock climb in visually stunning terrain. Plus, there’s some archery, because why not?
#4: Hit the gas
People are getting a thrill from the car racing game Gran Turismo 7. The Verge’s Sean Hollister gave a glowing review: “I’m certain a number of gearheads will buy a PlayStation VR2 for this game alone — and quite possibly a PS5, a steering wheel, and a set of pedals to go with it.”
#5: Row, Row, Row…
In Kayak VR you can, well, kayak. Those who are particularly committed to an immersive experience can connect the controllers to a makeshift paddle.
See you next time!
